Original developed by Hawker Siddeley.
In 1977 Hawker Siddeley became a part of British Aerospace.
In 1978, McDonnell Douglas and British Aerospace developed the T-45A Goshawk, a carrier-suitable version of the British Aerospace Hawk. It has stronger airframe and a stronger landing gear.
From 1997 all T-45A were upgraded to T-45C, with glass cockpit and inertial navigation.
